TENS and EMS

Reducing muscle and nerve pain
A person wearing white gloves is holding a device that says ' ii ' on it.
TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) is an effective modality at relieving pain. High frequency TENS acts on the pain-inhibiting mechanism of the nervous system to block pain signals sent to the brain making the pain go unprecieved. Low frequency TENS facilitates the release of endorphns, the body's natural painkillers.
EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) is an effective way to treat muscle injury. It sends electric pulses to the muscle needing treatment causing the muscle to exercise passively by stimulation motor neurons.
